Prescott AZ Monsoon Season

By tanderson • June 7th, 2009

The summer season is approaching, which means you can almost count on the afternoon storm that marks the Prescott AZ monsoon season.

Over the expansive desert that surrounds Prescott, thunderheads start building around mid afternoon producing impressive thunder and lightning, and the occasional couple of inches of rain.

Starting around the beginning of July and lasting through September, these afternoon showers take the heat out of the afternoon and provide a couple of hours of shade before clearing off in the evening.

Most Prescott residents don’t let the rain ruin any afternoon plans.  They just make sure to pack their rain jacket, and enjoy a warm shower in the heat of the day.
