Photo Radar has been in use in the Prescott Valley for some time but has recently found its way to Prescott.  The Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) now has minivans parked along some highways in Prescott.

Recently there was a minivan spotted pointing Northward near Lowes.  The new speed trap program was not instituted by the Prescott City Council.  It is overseen by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, who has stated:

Traffic cameras have shown great potential in reducing the likelihood of crashes resulting from speeding. They have received tremendous support and have proven effective in studies.

Prescott residents and visitors alike can learn more on the AZDPS photo enforcement website.  In the meantime, be on the lookout for minivans parked roadside, armed with cameras and radars, hoping to catch local speeders!
