Our town of Prescott was recently given a nod by the “Great Towns of America” Guide.  Listed as one of the top 100 towns to visit for a vacation, Prescott can compete with the best of them.  The Great Towns guide was written for both travelers and urban escapists and is loaded with information about great getaways.  Subtitled, “All New Guide to the 100 Best Getaways for a Vacation of a Lifetime”, Great Towns is the perfect companion for those looking to a have filled and rewarding trips.

The new Great Towns of America is an update to the original version released in 1998.  Twelve of the original 100 “great towns” were replaced due to changes in the last 10 years, however Prescott, Arizona retained it’s spot.  Noted by the authors as “the all-American classic hometown”, Prescott has a history, culture, and general small town ‘niceness’ combined with a western flare and finery that makes it a very attractive destination.  Neighboring Sedona also made the elite list this year.
