Prescott Arizona Real Estate in the “Country Town” of Dewey-Humboldt

Just 12 miles east of Prescott, the Prescott area’s newest incorporated town offers a rural, small town flavor making it Arizona’s Country Town.  The town came to life in December of 2004 with incorporation and the combination of two entities with tons of local history - Dewey, and agricultural ranching community and Humboldt, a mining mecca.  Residents in the Dewey-Humboldt area pursued incorporation to avoid becoming absorbed by the growing urban sprawl of the Prescott Valley along Highway 69.  They wanted to preserve the low-density,  rural flavor of the area.  Most homesites in the Dewey-Humboldt are greater than 1/2 acre with most being 1.5 acres or greater.

The Dewey-Humboldt area is steeped in an interesting Arizona history, with stories of mining, nomadic Indian tribes and prospectors hoping to find their fortunes.  Much of this history shapes the community Dewey-Humboldt remains today - Arizona’s Country Town.  For those interested, The Sharlot Hall Museum offers lots of great accounts about how this country town grew.

New residents considering life in Dewey-Humboldt will find a wealth of information, including building permit information, on the Dewey-Humboldt website.
