Expect Prescott Water and Sewer Rate Increases June 30th

Recently the Prescott City Council unanimously passed a water and sewer rate increase for Prescott citizens.  This on the heels of many community meetings and public presentations about the subject.  Increase are due to rising costs, stricter environmental regulations, a need for alternate water sources and many necessary system improvements.  According to city consultants the increase will add $4 to $6 per month to residential utility bills pending usage.  Prescott citizens will see this increase go into effect on their July billing statements.

5,000 gallons a month or less = $4.30 increase
10,000 gallons per month = $4.50 increase
50,000 gallons per month and up = $6.10 increase

Sewer rate increases will have a larger impact on local businesses.

150,000 gallons per month will increase from $175 to about $450
210,000 gallons per month will increase from $379 to about $631
