City of Prescott Develops the Prescott Branch of the US Green Building Council


Green living has gained widespread momentum in 2008, Prescott City Councilwoman, Lora Lopas, believes "going green" is a win-win and hopes Prescott will become a leader in the national movement.  Prescott is well on its way to becoming a regional leader with the recent development of the Prescott Branch of the US Green Building Council (USGBC).  This group of twelve local business professionals represent the common voice of green building issues in and around Prescott.

According to Prescott’s permit specialist, Dan Fairbank, the USGBC is the fastest growing non-profit organization in the world.  They are the authority for green building certification and neighborhood development.

Membership on the Prescott Chapter of the green building council is a volunteer position.  The first community meeting will be held:
