The Art and History of Prescott, Arizona

Dating as far back as 1863, Prescott has a long history steeped in rich tradition.  Originally a gold mining town, Prescott was the first capital of the Arizona Territories.  These stories are preserved in many of Prescott’s local museums on historic Whiskey Row which includes some of Arizona’s oldest buildings.

Prescott’s charming museums allow you to explore the lives of the early Arizona settlers. Pristine relics and artifacts from the pioneer days will help you to appreciate over a century of local Prescott history.  You will also see the work of modern day artists.  Today Prescott is still a mecca of creativity, shaped by modern arts and culture.
